Can Marketing Help Sales Sell?

As the creative agency working with both marketing and sales organizations, we often find these two camps misaligned. Lack of trust, lack of clear responsibility, and a lack of understanding on how each group contributes to a positive revenue outcome means the misaligned company rarely reaches its maximum sales potential.
Revenue performance management company, Marketo, suggests that when sales teams are clearly made aware of the marketing communications reaching their customers and prospects, 97% of revenue plans are achieved (versus 79% who lack this information) and 72% of reps meet or exceed their quotas (versus 50% who lack the information). This analysis is backed by industry research from CSO Insights’s Sales Performance Optimization Survey. Given this evidence, an interdependent relationship between sales and marketing is critical.
